I was born in Poland thirty eight years ago. I lived there until I was almost thirty. I moved a lot within my country and I have been travelling abroad a lot but at one point, I decided to take it a step further.
Two, three weeks in another country would tell you nothing about the people, the culture and the place, I thought.
So…I moved to England.
I lasted two years there and moved to Italy. I stayed in Italy for almost three years. Then I crossed the Atlantic and let New York City drain the energy out of my body and the money out of my bank account. I needed a job, so I moved back to Europe, and here I am, in Amsterdam.
This is my fifth country and I know already, it is not the last one. I will soon follow my husband-to-be to his motherland – the bonny land of Scotland!
Have I enjoyed so far?
Do I want to keep going like this?
I need rutine. I need home to come BACK to.
So far, I have lived “forward”, never looking back, never stopping. Go, go, run.
It is now time for a rest.
I love this quote of Marcel Proust: “The real voyage of discovery consists, not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
I needed new eyes and now I have them.
